After months of documenting celebrations on home soil, I’m delighted to finally spread my wings for a destination wedding, and where better than the beautiful shores of Italy’s Lake Como!
Together with the talented noramphotography we captured the lovely Alice & Daniel exchange vows at the exclusive Villa Lario Mandello Resort
A hidden gem set on two acres of private gardens, this luxury property is the perfect intimate escape. With stunning vistas of Italy’s most beloved body of water and numerous picturesque backdrops for capturing our couple, it was such a wonderful wedding experience!
HOW DID YOU GUYS MET?
Daniel and I “met” online back in 2015 I believe. We exchanged numbers and texted for a few days maybe, but no longer than a week. We never spoke again nor did we ever see/run into each other as we live in different cities a good distance from one another.
Fast forward to February of 2016 I had just started a new job at a car dealership as a receptionist and it turns out that Daniel was working there too. And how awkward was that? We work in different departments so we didn’t see each other often, but when we would occasionally run into one another it was always, “Hey, how are you?” and we would continue walking and go about our day. We hardly ever spoke unless it was work-related, which wasn’t very often. Fast forward again to 2017 it was my sisters birthday (she worked there too) and she invited some of our coworkers out for drinks, including Daniel but not thinking he would actually come.
Daniel and I didn’t speak much at the bar, but a little later we all went back to one of our coworker’s apartments so we could hang out more. Daniel and I actually spoke there and we all ended up staying the night at our coworker’s apartment. That morning my sister dropped me off at work since my car stayed at the bar from the previous night. Towards the end of the workday I needed to find a ride to my car so I got Daniel’s number from the work call sheet and he gave me a ride to my car. We continued texting/talking and soon went on our first date which consisted of dinner and a movie. The rest is basically history.
WHY DO YOU WANT US TO CAPTURE YOUR WEDDING AT VILLA LARIO MANDELLO RESORT IN LAKE COMO?
I’d love for you to capture our wedding day in Lake Como this summer because your video aesthetic is truly remarkable. We want to look back on our video and see just how in love we are.
We don’t want to forget any of the details from that day. We’d like to watch it again and again on every anniversary and remember how we felt that day. We also would like our future children to be able to watch it as well and be able to see their parents.
TELL ME ABOUT YOUR PROPOSAL
Daniel and I were at home on a Wednesday evening, I was trying to spruce up some ramen noodles because I did not feel like cooking or leaving the house. While I was “cooking” Daniel was sitting on the couch talking to me when he asked how I would like to be proposed to (in those exact words.)
Not thinking anything of it because it was on the topic of our conversation I began to tell him how I would want it to just be the two of us and that I wasn’t sure exactly how I just knew I wanted it to be intimate. As I go to sit down on the couch to eat my ramen he gets up and walks into the bedroom and comes back out, walks towards me and plops down on one knee.
I honestly just remember blacking out until I said yes. Side note: Daniel had just picked up the ring that same day and told everyone he possibly could his plans of proposing to me. He was extremely nervous even after a few drinks and just couldn’t wait any longer to propose. Although it’s not how I envisioned our proposal it’s definitely fitting for our relationship.
WHEN YOU ARE NOT IN A FULL WEDDING MODE WHAT YOU GUYS DO FOR A LIVING
I work in accounting and Daniel works in car sales. Our future together keeps us going, we envision the same things for ourselves. We spend our free time watching lots of sports (not by choice for me,) hanging out with friends and family and going to the lake. I’m a big homebody so any other free time is spent at home with our miniature Goldendoodle, Brody.
TELL ME ABOUT THE VISION FOR THE DAY IT SELF
In a perfect world, we would be surrounded by all the flowers and trees in a garden party as the sun is setting and reflecting on the lake water. I’ll walk down the aisle, we’ll have a ceremony where we exchange our vows and say our I do’s, we’ll have a slow dance and then head to the boat where we’ll have a champagne toast and enjoy the views Italy has to offer. Maybe we’ll have some dinner and cake at some point too?
